Terrier is the designation of the first American sea-launched surface-to-air rocket with middle range. The Terrier has a takeoff thrust of 23 kN, a takeoff weight of 1392 kg, a diameter of 340 mm, a length of 8.08 m and a fin span of 1.59 m. The Terrier was used also as an elevator research rocket. For this the Terrier was equipped with various upper stages, like the Asp, the Tomahawk or the Orion.
