In alternative medicine, a medical intuitive is a person who has allegedly learned to hone and apply skills of intuition to the field of medical diagnosis.
Medical intuitive is a relatively new profession, initiated primarily by Dr. Caroline Myss. Medical intuitives report being able to view many physical problems in a person's aura, sometimes before any physical signs of illness can be detected. Areas of illness frequently appear to medical intuitives as dark, grainy, or sticky energy.
Publications
In 1967, Dr. Shafica Karagulla published, in Breakthrough to Creativity, the results of her interviews with health professionals who could "see" the condition of organs within the body, as well as fields of force, or auras around human beings, animals, and plants. Dr. Karagulla found that a large number of successful physicians showed signs of what she called Higher Sense Perception (HSP), which they relied upon when they made each medical diagnosis.
In their books on the subject of "energy healing", authors such as Alijandra, Barbara Ann Brennan, Donna Eden, Choa Kok Sui, Caroline Myss, Carol Ritberger and Dianne Stein describe how one can learn to recognize "patterns" of disease and assist people in healing by working with "subtle energies". These authors assert that good physical health is directly related to a healthy aura, and therefore work to assist people in understanding how to replace destructive negative emotions and energies with healing positive energies.
Dr. Myss works primarily with the Hindu system of auras and chakras. A medical intuitive may learn to perceive the meridians, the anatomical interior of the body, the chakras and/or the aura of a body. There are also numerous skeptics who claim that such abilities are impossible, and that auras, chakras and meridians do not exist.
