Fylde is a local government district with borough status in Lancashire, England. Its council headquarters are in St Annes , with some council departments located in Kirkham. Fylde borough was formed on April 1, 1974 by the merger of the borough of Lytham, Kirkham urban district, and Fylde Rural District .
Fylde is also the name of the peninsula on which the Fylde borough is located. Towns on the peninsula include Blackpool and Poulton-le-Fylde.
