Ann Taylor

The Right Honourable Ann Taylor (born July 2, 1947) is a British politician, and was Labour Member of Parliament for Dewsbury until 2005.

She was Leader of the House of Commons from 1997 to 1998, then became Chief Whip until 2001 when she was sacked from the government. Since 2001 she has been Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee.

Taylor stepped down from the House of Commons at the 2005 general election. The Constituency Labour Party selected Shahid Malik to be their candidate.
