Adwick le Street is a small town in the West Riding of Yorkshire, in England. It is situated a few miles to the north west of Doncaster, and is within the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster. For ceremonial purposes it is considered part of South Yorkshire.
The earliest references to the town are found in Domesday Book (1086), and the parish church of St. Lawrence dates from the 12th century. The town derives its name from the great north British Roman routeway, Ermine Street
