The A61 is a major road in England, running from Alfreton in Derbyshire to Thirsk in North Yorkshire. From Alfreton, it heads north via Clay Cross , Chesterfield, Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield, Leeds, Harrogate and Ripon. The road is closely paralleled by the M1 motorway as far as Leeds.
